Bean Common Mosaic Disease: Etiology, Resistance Resource, and Future Prospects

نویسندگان

چکیده

Bean common mosaic disease is one of the most destructive diseases bean, which important legumes worldwide. It caused by two closely related potyviruses: bean virus (BCMV) and necrosis (BCMNV). Both viruses have spread to all bean-growing areas worldwide become a major challenge in production. In this review, we summarized biology diversity BCMV BCMNV, discussed current knowledge on resistance genes BCMV, finally pointed out future prospects for control disease.

Disease-resistance related sequences in common bean.

Primers based on a conserved nucleotide binding site (NBS) found in several cloned plant disease resistance genes were used to amplify DNA fragments from the genome of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris). Cloning and sequence analysis of these fragments uncovered eight unique classes of disease-resistance related sequences. All eight classes contained the conserved kinase 2 motif, and five classes...

RNAi-mediated resistance to Bean golden mosaic virus in genetically engineered common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris).

Bean golden mosaic virus (BGMV) is transmitted by the whitefly Bemisia tabaci in a persistent, circulative manner, causing the golden mosaic of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). The characteristic symptoms are yellow-green mosaic of leaves, stunted growth, or distorted pods. The disease is the largest constraint to bean production in Latin America and causes severe yield losses (40 to 100%)....

Rhizobacteria-mediated resistance against the blackeye cowpea mosaic strain of bean common mosaic virus in cowpea (Vigna unguiculata).

BACKGROUND The present study investigated the effect of seven Bacillus-species plant-growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) seed treatments on the induction of disease resistance in cowpea against mosaic disease caused by the blackeye cowpea mosaic strain of bean common mosaic virus (BCMV). RESULTS Initially, although all PGPR strains recorded significant enhancement of seed germination and se...

Journal of Plant Registrations, Vol. 3, No. 3, September 2009 219 Great northern common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) ‘Coyne’ (Reg. No. CV-287, PI 655574) was developed by the dry bean breeding program at the University of Nebraska Agricultural Research Division and released in 2008. It is named in honor of Dermot P. Coyne, who was the bean breeder at the University of Nebraska for about 30 Regi...
